How to create your own website

10 August, 2011 by Robby

Having your website advertising your services or products effectively is a must. Ensuring you attract new visitors and convert them into sales or enquiries requires well designed functionality & properly optimised pages.

Key elements of any website should have:

  • trust & openness
  • ease of use
  • simple to search
  • a clear ordering process (e-commerce websites)
  • engaging your visitors

You may be tempted to build your own website using an ‘off the shelf’ package. It's well worthwhile doing some research as these templates can have limitations which can ultimately restrict the growth & development of your website. There are often annual fees too, which over time, can add up. Oh, and don't forget to check in the terms and conditions for the minimum term you are contracted to use the package.

Our advice to you is to invest in a professionally built website taking away the hassle & stress. The Return on Investment is more than worthwhile. We have put together a 'What's Included' checklist which you can download here to help you know what we believe should be part of any quality website. Also, make sure when you get quotes from web developers that you ask if these elements are included as standard NOT extras.

Confused? It's a lot to understand and get right on your own.
