We often get asked..."How do I choose a domain name?"

Hopefully here we can clarify a few points for you.

You will need to register a new and unique domain name for your website. Choosing one with relevant keywords in can make a big difference to getting a good start in the race to Page 1 of the major search engines such as Google.

You can do this through one of many Domain Name registrars on the internet. Registration usually costs about £4 p.a. for a .co.uk domain and about £12 p.a. for a .com domain. It takes 5-10 minutes to register a domain name and it will be ‘live’ on the internet within 24-28 hours.

We use www.domainmonster.com to register domain names. Their site is simple to use, they are very reliable and prices are good.

We recommend that clients register their own domain names. Owning your domain name and having access to the registration details ensures you are in total control of your domain name.

However, if you prefer (and many of our clients do) we can register a domain name on your behalf. We guarantee that you own it and can transfer it to your own registration account at a future date, usually at no cost.
